Arnoldo J. Muller-Molina is the founder and CEO of simMachines. He applied similarity search techniques to solve genomic questions at the Max Planck Institute for Molecular Biomedicine in Germany. He has published several peer-reviewed articles related to similarity search data structures and applications. He obtained a PhD in Artificial Intelligence from Kyushu Institute of Technology in Japan with a Monbusho scholarship where he specialized in software similarity analysis for intellectual property protection, similarity search data structures and pattern recognition. Before becoming a scientist, he spent several years at Intel writing data processing software. Recently, he was recognized by MIT Technology Review as a TR35 Innovator for Central America where he was born and raised.
